Terms of Use

The ground rules for this website and the phone line.

General information only

The guides and service pages on this site explain plumbing in general terms. They are not a diagnosis of your plumbing and do not replace a visit from a licensed plumber. Rules on permits and licensing come from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the local plumbing inspector, so check them for your own job. The Massachusetts Uniform State Plumbing Code, 248 CMR 10.00, is the standard that governs plumbing work in the state.

Calls and pricing

Calls to our line may be recorded for quality and training purposes. Pricing for any job is given by the plumber before work starts, and the work begins only after you agree. Any change in scope is discussed with you before the extra work proceeds.

Safety

In a gas emergency, leave the building and call 911 or your gas utility from outside. The site's emergency steps are general guidance and do not replace advice from emergency services.

Water quality

A plumber cannot tell you whether your water is safe to drink. Use your utility's published water quality report or an accredited laboratory test.

Using the site

You may read and share pages for personal use. Do not copy site content for commercial use without permission. We may update pages and these terms at any time, and the version on the site is the current one.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
