About Milton Pro Plumbing

A Milton-based line that answers around the clock and sends a licensed plumber to your door.

What we do

Milton Pro Plumbing is a local dispatch line at 2 Granite Ave in Milton, Massachusetts. You call (617) 752-0573, describe the problem and a licensed and insured plumber is sent to the address. That covers emergencies at any hour and planned jobs such as installs, repiping and sump pump work.

The service is built around the phone on purpose. There are no online forms and no waiting for an email reply. A burst pipe or a sewer backup needs a person on the line, so the line is staffed 24/7 and the first call is where the job is scoped.

How a call works and what to do before the plumber arrives

The dispatcher asks where you are, what you see and whether water is still running. If it is running, you are walked through shutting off the main valve while the plumber is sent. If there is any gas smell, you are told to leave the building and call 911 or your gas utility from outside first.

Arrival time is not promised, because it depends on where the plumber is and the roads at that hour. The dispatcher tells you what to expect for your address instead of quoting a number that might not hold.

What happens when the plumber arrives

The plumber looks at the problem first, explains what is wrong in plain terms and tells you what the repair involves. You hear the price before anything is opened or replaced. Where a permit is needed, the licensed plumber pulls it, and you can ask to see it.

When the work is finished, the plumber tests the repair, explains what was done and tells you what to watch for. For jobs that may involve insurance, such as water damage, take photos of the damage before cleanup and keep any removed parts if the insurer asks to see them.

How pricing works

You get a clear price before work starts. The plumber looks at the problem, explains what is wrong and gives you the figure. If the scope changes once a wall is open or a line is cameraed, the plumber tells you and the price is discussed again before the extra work begins.

The service pages on this site explain what drives the price for each job but do not print price ranges, because the same symptom can hide a ten-minute fix or a day of work. The honest number comes from someone looking at your plumbing.

Licensing and how to check it yourself

Massachusetts allows only master or journeyman plumbers licensed by the Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters to do plumbing work, and apprentices only under direct supervision. You do not have to take anyone's word for it. The state eLIPSE portal shows a plumber's licence, how long it has been held and any discipline history, and the Board's office answers questions at 617-727-9952.

Permits work the same way. The local plumbing inspector issues a permit before plumbing is installed, altered, removed, replaced or repaired, and permits go only to licensed plumbers. You can ask to see it. Minor repairs such as fixing a leaky faucet or clearing a blocked drain do not need one.

Why local pipes and rivers matter to the job

Milton's age shows up in the work. The Town's Housing Production Plan found that about three quarters of homes were built before 1960, so plumbers here meet cast iron drains, galvanized supply lines and valves that have not moved in decades. A good visit starts with what is actually in your walls, not with a standard price list.

Water also matters. Milton buys its water only from the MWRA, and the MWRA notes that old pipes can develop tuberculation, which can cause an occasional red, yellow or brown color in water. If the color shows at one tap, the cause is usually inside your house. If it shows at every tap, call Milton Water and Sewer at 617-696-5731.

Who we serve

The base is Milton, from Milton Village on the Neponset to East Milton Square and Brush Hill. Dispatch also covers Quincy, Canton, Randolph and Braintree. Each town page explains its own water source, housing and the problems that tend to come up there.

Landlords, property managers and business owners use the same line. See commercial plumbing for after-hours calls, and the full services list for everything else.

What we do not claim

This site does not display testimonials, star ratings or a company history, and it does not name individual plumbers. Those are claims a reader cannot check. The things you can check are the licence lookup, the permit and the written price, so the page points you there.
